Surveys and Assessments
Surveys and assessments are used most obviously in a training
context to evaluate the success of a learning solution. They are
also commonly used in marketing efforts to measure customer satisfaction.
However, surveys and assessments are also powerful tools for internal
corporate use; the ways they can be applied are as varied as the
business environment itself. For example, they can be used to measure
employee satisfaction, the ethical climate, productivity, employee
values, or health and safety. They can be used to collect feedback
on a newly implemented operational process or computer system.
They can also be used to help assess the effectiveness of a company's
internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and can even be
used to determine the effectiveness of your corporate internal
communcations!
Constructing a systematic method of soliciting information from
staff is a great way to find out what your people really think,
to gain relevant information about their day-to-day experiences,
to gain insights into corporate risks and opportunities, and ultimately
to help you make data-driven improvements to your organization.
