Case Studies - Clinician Trainng

Customer Profile

A Fortune 500 health care corporation specializing in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Business Situation

The primary goal of an ongoing clinical education program was to ensure sufficient education so clinicians were able to successfully perform a specific therapy. The existing program was lecture-based, required expensive follow up, and had low retention rates.

The corporation sought assistance from Envision Group Consulting to reinforce the corporation's leadership role in the field, secure greater market share, and create a long-term and ongoing relationship with the clinicians to support them and aid in their roles as brand champions.

Solution

Envision created a complete curriculum of programs to support clinician education from novice through expert practitioner. The content was available in multiple formats with a series of online modules, videos, simulations and activities providing learning support before and after the live workshop attendance. The curriculum gradually advanced the clinicians thru the content, allowing them to continually develop their skills while maintaining a long-term relationship with the corporation.

Business Advantages Achieved

The corporation's three largest accounts have asked for customized versions and full use of the curriculum to train all the clinicians in their own programs; the corporation has agreed to make this program available in exchange for product purchasing commitments.

The corporation achieved increases in learning efficiency and competency levels. Pre and post assessments indicated an over 50% improvement in learner competency and the online content has reduced the number of live follow up visits required by corporate staff.

Other regions and service areas within the corporation are planning to leverage the curriculum to substantially reduce their development costs.
